Join Michelle at the Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference

On Friday, Septmeber 23rd, I will be a panelist on the "Black Wealth: How to get it, How to use it, How to keep it" forum during the Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference. The discussion will be held  at the Washington D.C. Convention Center from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Michelle will participate on the panel "Inside the Money Pit: Economic Stars Share Secrets To Economic Success" held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

The Training Source Inc. 18th Anniversary Dinner and Auction

On Thursday, October 6th, I will be honored with the Bridge Builder Award at The Training Source Inc. 18th anniversary dinner and auction. This is a fundraising event for the Training Source, which is a great non-profit organization in Prince George's County that, among other services, provides training and employment placement assistance, leadership training for at-risk youth, and free professional clothing for job candidates.

The event will be held at Newton White Mansion at 2708 Enterprise Rd. in Mitchellville, Md., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Michelle Moderated the Race and the Recession Panel Discussion

View highlights of a dynamic discussion about race and the recession hosted by The Washington Post. The panelists included Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus; the Rev. Al Sharpton, president of the National Action Network; Jared Bernstein, chief economist and economic adviser to Vice President Biden; Julianne Malveaux, a noted economist and educator; Michael A. Fletcher, a Washington Post national economics reporter; Jeff Johnson, a political commentator on the nationally syndicated "Tom Joyner Morning Show"; and Sophia Nelson, a political commentator for Jet magazine and MSNBC.
