Tell Michelle Your Story

What's Your Money Story?

Dollar Sign

In my nationally syndicated column I write about a wide range of personal finance issues. Often some of the columns are inspired by people who write to me or e-mail me about their own money struggles. Because of their stories I’ve been able to help others get out of debt, save, or settle a money dispute with a friend, family member or co-worker.

So I want to hear from you.

Is MasterCard your master?  If so, perhaps I can help deliver you out of that bondage.

Are you faced with a financial decision and you don’t know what to do? Write to me and maybe I can help. However, please keep in mind comments and questions are welcome, but because of the volume of mail I receive, personal responses are not always possible. Additionally, comments or questions may be used in a future column, with the writer's name, unless a specific request to do otherwise is indicated. Cover of Michelle's book, Spend Well, Live Rich

Tell me your story by sending an e-mail to colorofmoney@washpost.com

In 2007, four people – one couple and two single women – wrote to me and they became part of a year-long New Year’s Resolution challenge to get out of debt. Read here How These Challenges Changed Their Financial Lives for the Better.

Even if you don’t write to me get your financial life together by reading my book, “Spend Well, Live Rich.”

Couples & Cash

Two Hearts

One of the top reason’s couples have fights that often lead to divorce is because of money – or so they think.

The fact is financial fights are rarely about money. The fights are the outcome of deep rooted “issues” people have with money.

Here’s a universal truth about your honey and your money: Money may not be able to buy love but conflicts about it will bankrupt your relationship.

Or are you getting married and the cost of the wedding or other money issues are threatening your impending nuptials? Send me an e-mail to colorofmoney@washpost.com. Cover of Michelle's Book, Your Money and Your Man

And even if you don't want to go public about your financial problems, tell me how you and your sweetie manage your money together – the good or bad.

Whether you are single, married, or divorce read my book “Your Money and Your Man.” And guys this isn’t just a chick book. You too can learn how to handle your money with your honey.
